Tom Colling about Change and my feedback

This one is only an image to what will come as you read on: do not try to click on it.
This youTube screen showed me Tom on as he speaks at Road 2 DTM, Nebraska and my evaluation from London, near it a BaseCamp demo I've given at the same time!I

With all this, plus a last speech yesterday, I did finish my Level1 as I gave my second version of my story at DTM Masters, Virginia, incorporating what it was suggested. They do offer to speak, 2 or 3 times a year only, as we are many, so I could not change to another month easy. As, my prepared evaluator did not remain, instead I got a feedback from someone who did not see me. But Graham, our wonderful TM of the meeting had heard me telling Breakfast in bed (that I published yesterday) the first time and told me I'll get a feedback from him. "You did incorporate in your great story what was suggested to you indeed".

The task that was still missing, from Feedback and Evaluation project was to give feedback, and I did it by Evaluating Tom Colling's wonderful speech about Change. Really happy to offer him a feedback for many reasons. Listening to Tom, I learned wonderful expression that I will borrow! I let you listen to him and discover them yourself.

This one is the video.
I've met Tom Colling as co-remote access member of another club, in Oregon, and we begun to chat after. He come to discover this blog, liked it, and finally, invited me to the Road2 DTM Omaha Club, from Nebraska where he is club coach.

It was a pleasure, as I could really hear all of them very well and they me on the hotel's huge screen behind the lectern, and before the meeting, Tom went around and presented me all their present members one by one, through his mobile phone. but I could see them also while I spoke. The screen was behind the lectern so could even see myself, the audience filmed and the speaker when it was not me. Many interesting other speeches and feedback and table topics too. A very inspiring meeting!

Evaluating Tom's great persuasive speech: Change
From London UK to Road 2 DTM Omaha, Nebraska club

I did not ask them to let me evaluate: Tom Collins asked me to give feedback to his speech. As it happens, it was exactly what I had to do to finish my level 1 "Evaluation and Feedback". In plus, I learned a lot of great expressions from Tom. He is a great speaker and Club Coach.

So I finished yesterday, after my very busy weekend, yet another level 1, this time for the Dynamic Leadership. still to be approved by one Base Camp Manager. A lot in the weekend, my last 'quiet" one. For a while, it will slow down for sure, as I prepare for the club visits as Pathways launches in my district.

Preparing and speaking in many clubs about the Pathways Education System launching to our District, will be a great task. My next six weeks very busy. In plus, I will be presenting at officer training too about it, in a different way.

I am ready now to go to the divers Toastmasters clubs, as Ambassador, and tell them about Pathways, less afraid about "what I will say and how to learn it" now that I read a few times the text suggested by TMI for the Ambassadors and the Guides and looked at a few presentation done in other Regions. It is all about things I do know and in which I do believe. And interactivity with audience.

The only problem really will be : will my legs hold me?

I did take care of my spirit soul and head but not enough of my body and left feet. Tomorrow, will see my physiotherapist as it was as far I could the appointment  but I did not do most of the movements he asked me. What I will tell him, how to get out of this? How can I expect him to help me if I do not do the movements I was told to do daily to improve?

Who brings me breakfast in bed?

I add the picture here even if it was shown only short in the middle, because the blogger does not show the video picture when we look at it.

This is a picture of a very reasonable breakfast, in France. The only picture I have sold while exposing in a gallery.  I think, it was also bought because a story of my grandma was under it.

This video is the story (stories) I told at Global Trainers Online Saturday morning. They loved it! I needed a feedback that I could incorporate in the next version. Yes, I got it at the end too.

Listen to the story, it was exact 7 minutes. Give me a feedback! Perhaps under this post even. Philip, offered me an insightful advice: when you speak of the Breakfast you had seen as child, add food senses to it. What a great idea! I will try obtain the recording or record my second speech and post it too.

Some of the participants when I told my story from all over the world
The Second Project of every Level 1 is called Evaluation and Feedback and it is my favorite. It does goes in many details on how we have to listen to feedback and also how to listen before giving one. And also the difference between Advice and Feedback (this one is recommended).
As I am doing this project again, I observed it has also at the beginning the navigation explained. I did not remember having that before! Was it added or did I not observe some details? They are never shown too many times! I do remember those first weeks when I did not open up big enough, whole screen and did not seen the "Select to move to another section" at the bottom, that can be so useful. And had each time to stretch horizontal to see the arrows that go next page or back.
I still do not understand why Next Next has to be added sometimes, and the Direction for the additional information. After you open Direction, and read it, you have to click on that info to make it disappear, till then nothing can be done; it covers the rest of screen.
While I do not hesitate to click, to try, I had seen some toastmaster asking me "now, what?" After the greyed area disappears you can click on every one of Advices and see how to tell it rather as a Feedback.

Yes, even after 5th time I arrive at Level 1 which is the same for every path, I can still learn and observe new things. In plus, I really enjoy enhancing a story and telling it again. And again. The impact of the story becomes stronger and also it sticks longer in the mind of the audience.
First page of Scott Johnston, Guide and Ambassador's Evaluation : first time he used a Pathways Feedback form.
And here are the beautiful words Scott wrote me together with the form, they mean so much to me! I got a lot of courage from them.
Hi Julie. It was my pleasure to evaluate you yesterday at Global Trainers Online. I enjoyed the speech immensely and your storytelling ability, something I’m currently working on and would like to improve. I learned so much yesterday as an online evaluation so different than evaluating in a bricks and mortar club. Thanks for the opportunity and congratulations on a great speech.

At 8 pm I was asked to Evaluate Tom Colling, who did give a superb CC9 Persuasive speech about Chage in Omaha, Nebraska DTM club. Tomorrow, publishing his speech and my feedback. That is how we all progress, giving each other feedback.

Validate a project - only after? Oops!

In my blogpost from August, I explained that you have to answer all questions from self Assessment Before and Self Assessment after. I did not answer the "before" all points in April, and never could close my Project, the Icebreaker!

That is till a Toastmaster come to help me and showed me the problem. Thanks, Matt!

I then read recently, that it is enough to answer all the questions of self-assessment - AFTER. What? I did not believe. My experience, told me different.

Well, I decided to prove "my experience" true, and did not answer any of "before questions" then went to answer all the after, sure that it will prove MY point. I skipped these and went farther.
Aie! what happened? After answering the Assess After all questions, it saved even before I clicked ok and gave me this. All points before, that I did not answer at 0 but my project considered finished.

Wait! Wait! I did not finish the Moderate a Panel yet. Still a mont at least to wait!

But Base Camp did not listen to me. It closed the project, thinking I really did it.

I went back and answered the "before" that I should have from the beginning, to see what happens and here is the answer. The comparison changed, automatically.
Instead of 0 they did put my Before Assessments, I had now the numbers I added later on.

But still I did not finish!!!

What to do now? As test it was OK, but as Project, I am still BEFORE the Panel, not after it.
I have already moderated a few Panel discussions now, and was also in Panel, learning not only how a Panelist has to prepare but also observing how different Panel moderators worked.

But here I am now, and because of the "Testing" I tried and to prove I am right not those who... knew better already then me, the Base Camp believes I finished.
No way to un-tell, no way to speak and un-finish inside Base Camp. Ooops!

What I can do, now, is to begin to find a place, a time, and begin to organize my panel. I do know, and now, all who reads it too, that I still have to Moderate a Panel, if possible, next month. And do it seriously. A great panel about personal Storytelling. Or should I do it about "oops"?

Does not mind what the base camp thinks or even TMI who asked me even to "evaluate" their Panel Moderation Program, I do know that it is still before me. And I will do it well.

In plus, you know also now: best answer all Before questions, but not because otherwise your project will not close, just the comparison will look strange will all those Zeros. And if you see the Zeros, then go back you can still answer and change. And, attention! Do not answer the Assessment After, before you indeed, completed the task the project asked you to do.

Do NOT do, this time, like I did. Did it for you, to verify, to make sure. It is wonderful that they changed from April how they operate. All improvements are great! It also means, we will get some more changes of the user interface. I am looking for them, with pleasure.
