How to make stand out?

we tell stories, have part of what happened stand out, by taking out or blurring the unimportant

When something happens, there are so many details and we remember or not. Too many facts, to many hesitations in a dialogue. Remember: a story is not like being before a judge! We do not have to tell everything. Exact what had happened, not even what we remember. Exactly like in this picture. Or the next.
